Registration

When you try to place a new order or renewal a domain, you will be getting an order number, but this is not an indication for a successful order. Once the non-real-time order has been completed successfully, we will send you a confirmation notice to your registered email address in SeekaHost or if your order has failed as well. Sometimes the newly registered domain might take 48hrs to reflect in your account. API users can track the status of non-real-time orders by using the GetOrderDetail command.

Registration details

.EU domains must follow the below format:

  • The length of the domain name must be between 2-63 characters.
  • Letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9), and hyphens except for the 1st, 3rd, 4th, or last characters of the domain name.
  • Special Characters are not acceptable. Eg-(, $ %#)
  • IDNs are not supported.

Residency requirements

To register a .EU, you must follow one of the below from October 19th,

  • An EU citizen, independently of their place of residence.
  • A natural one that isn't an EU citizen and who may be a resident of a Member State.
  • An undertaking that's established within the EU.

Contact Information

When you’re registering a .EU domain, by leaving the Organization field empty, you can keep your name private in the WHOIS record. In such a case, the email address displays in the registry WHOIS. For more details regarding this, please see section 2.4.ii of the registry's WHOIS policy.

Renewals

For the .EU domains, deletion request will be scheduled to the registry, 60-days before the due date. If you have renewed during that 60-days period, the domain deletion request will be removed, and the domain will be renewed at the actual expired date.

Renewals can be requested at any time during the domain's term. We will mark the domain as renewal applied and will not delete the name at the expiry date. The new expiry date for the domain will not change at the registry but will be visible within the Control Panel.

If you failed to renew the domain by its expiry date, it will then expire. The previous quarantine process during which a domain was quarantined to the end of the expiry month no longer exists.

Transfers

.EU domain transfers can be processed via the standard domain transfer process.
