Where to Insert JSON-LD Structured Data?

In this video, John Mueller explains three different ways Google processes structured data on a web page (JSON-LD, Microdata, and RDFa) and their differences. He also addresses where to insert JSON-LD structured data on a page.

JSON-LD: JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data is a method of encoding Linked Data using JSON.

Microdata: It is a WHATWG HTML specification used to nest metadata within existing content on web pages.

RDFa: Resource Description Framework in Attributes. An HTML5 extension that supports link data through additional attributes added to existing HTML tags on the page

Compared to all these three, John Mueller prefers JSON-LD and said that it can be inserted in the head or body of a page.
